Bring
your appetite to Main Beach Park on Amelia Island on August 24 and 25. Here
you’ll enjoy live music by local and regional bands while experiencing the
thrill of the barbeque competition…and learn some barbeque tricks to show off
at your own tailgate parties.
This
free event is a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event and Florida State
Championship contest. The cost per amateur team to participate is $100 (chicken
and ribs) and $250 for each professional team (chicken, ribs, pork butts and
brisket). The professional teams will compete for over $20,000 in cash and
prizes, with the Grand Champion in the professional division qualifying for the
American Royal Cook-Off, as well as the Jack Daniels Championship.

On
Friday, August 24 the gates open at 3 pm. From 5:30-7 pm-Jimmy
Parrish and the Ocean Waves perform. From 7:30-9 pm - Rockit Fly
On
Saturday, August 25 the gates open at 10:00 am. From 1-2 pm -Beech
Street Blues Band; from 2:30-3:30 pm - the Honey Badgers ; 4-5 pm - Sean
McCarthy & the Fishin' Musicians; At 5 pm is the Awards Ceremony; from
7-8:30 pm - Little River Band
All of this occurs on Amelia Island, a barrier
island rich in history and breath-taking natural beauty. It’s Northeast
Florida’s coastal treasure with long, beautiful beaches, abundant
wildlife, and pristine waters.
Food
and beverages are available for purchase inside the gates. Outside food and
beverage not permitted. No pets, please. Parking is $5 per vehicle with
shuttle to event (available from Atlantic Elementary School to Main Beach 30
minutes prior to event opening. Return shuttle from Main Beach will be
